Business infrastructure

The infrastructure behind the jnpgroup consulting engineers is the backbone to the success of its staff, with voice and data communication integration, professional application software development on the latest industry hardware.

Network
We operate a fully integrated digital data network for both telephone and data transmission. Spider web of dedicated Cat 5 10/1000 base T, network cables patched in to one central hub per location.

A series of fast ethernet switches to handle the connectivity of all computers and peripherals.

All hosted into patch panels for ease and speed of control.

Telephone
Dedicated digital “Siemens HiPath3000”, 16 Channel ISDN phone system. This phone system is installed throughout all offices.

Servers
Multiple Dell PowerEdge servers mounted in a secure environment, running the latest Intel Xeon processors with Microsoft server software providing all staff with a powerful and flexible data network.

Internet – World Wide Web
Internet connections in each office are provided by Demon Internet and the internal network benefits from professional security levels courtesy of a comprehensive Watchguard Firewall System. This managed system also provides secure links between offices and benefits from regular updates, content management and spam filtering.

Anti Virus
Sophos Anti-Virus is updated up to 12 times every day with the very latest virus definitions and every network computer is automatically protected within 60 minutes. Sophos has become one of the world leaders in anti-virus and anti-spam software and jnpgroup benefits from its comprehensive network tools and commitment to network stability.

Application Software
jnpgroup consulting engineers are registered Autodesk Developers and as such receive software updates ahead of the general industry. jnpgroup employ a range of Civil Engineering and Structural Engineering software including 3 dimensional frame analysis, finite element analysis, road, traffic and drainage software packages.

All of jnpgroup consulting engineers servers and workstations run on the latest Microsoft applications through a maintained volume licensing agreement. All our engineering software is maintained to the latest standards.

HardWare
Ricoh R40 W is a B&W Plotter, it is capable of printing A3 - A0. There is also a manual feeder, built in scanner and copier.

HP 1050c A0 Colour Plotter, A1/minute printing speed. With true 600-dpi Colour and 1200-dpi black print resolution.

Backup Systems
All Live Data is mirrored during the day, and in the evening the data is backed up to the Super DLT Backup Tape Drive. This is backed up daily, weekly, and monthly.

Super DLT Backup Tapes – Store up to 800GB. Daily backups stored on site and weekly\monthly stored off site.

Servers are supported by Smart UPS 700’s (Uninterruptible Power Supply) supplied by APC. These can supply the Servers power for up to (20 minutes each).
