Phase 1
The first phase comprised a single storey load-bearing masonry structure with traditional trussed rafter roof. The ground floor slab was a suspended floor construction using precast concrete beam and block.
Phase 2
The second phase required more extensive works; this comprised a two storey load-bearing masonry structure with one storey below ground floor level built into the embankment alongside the existing building incorporating a retaining structure. The lower ground floor consisted of a ground bearing concrete floor slab with the ground floor once again being precast concrete beam and block construction. The roof of the extension was constructed of timber trussed rafters
The facility provides GP and other medical services to residents in the Frecheville and Hackenthorpe areas of the city. These extensions have allowed the facility to keep up with modern medical working methods and have provided the users with many more available services than before.
