Cardington gate
An existing two storey amenity block was demolished to allow the existing warehouse to be extended. Variable ground conditions meant that the foundations, and part of the ground floor slab had to be piled. The ground slab was in steel fibre reinforced concrete with cast-in rails for mobile racking storage equipment and designed to carry institutional loading.
Superstructures comprised 35m twin bay structural steel portal frames with profiled metal cladding. Upper floors to the office accommodation were in precast concrete. Externals comprised concrete lorry forecourts and car parking.
jnpgroup consulting engineers provided full civil, structural and environmental engineering design services for all aspects of the project.
