JNP Group consulting engineers services provided:

  • Parking Design
  • Drainage Design
  • Structural Design
  • Foundation Design
  • Drainage Design
  • Analysis Of Existing Structure
  • Insertion Of Additional Floor

JNP Group consulting engineers provided full structural engineering design and detail of all new foundations, new steel superstructure, insitu floors and steel frame roof. As well as assessment of existing structure and floors where required. Disproportionate collapse was dealt with by using RC insitu stairs and a structural topping to existing floors.

The steel frame penthouse structure and roof including vaulted ceiling and dormer returns was designed to avoid loading the existing lightweight floor at that level. By using permanent steel shuttering for the insitu floors JNP Group consulting engineers were able to design a 'prop free' scheme enabling the contractor to work at all levels at once, thus speeding up the construction process.

JNP Group consulting engineers also designed the external works including accesses, parking and drainage.

Project: Redevelopment of former five storey technical college in Putney to provide 38 2/3 bed luxury apartments.

Project Value: £2.6m

Client: Barratt South London

The site: The site is located adjacent to the A3 close to Putney town centre flanked by residential property and a school. The scheme called for the excavation of a lower floor, addition of two mezzanine floors and the removal of the top floor to be replaced by a steel framed penthouse level. Internal alterations and open areas at ground floor dictated part internal steel frame with permanent steel shuttering and insitu concrete for additional floor construction.

Architect: Stefan Zins
