The site had previously been occupied by garages and presented difficulties not only with contamination but also with risk of flooding. By careful examination of the archive records and investigation of the site and the surrounding locality these difficulties were overcome without major affect to the development by a detailed and thoughtful approach to the problems.
Trigon: The structure of all three buildings consists of a reinforced concrete frame with flat slabs and is clad in masonry, glass and timber. The buildings vary in height between 5 and 7 storeys and the building exhibits many interesting architectural features.
The Cube: of traditional load-bearing masonry construction for the private residential apartments, where consideration of the design for disproportionate collapse was a guiding principle. The building incorporates a ‘Green Roof’ to reduce rainwater run-off and thereby helping to create a more sustainable building.
All external drainage for both Trigon and The Cube, handling large potential flows within a tight footprint, was designed by JNP Group consulting engineers.
