Riverside Pulborough, Reinforced Earth Retaining Wall
JNP Group facilitated redevelopment of this former ceramics factory to provide 150 new dwellings. The ground level adjacent to the main railway line along the lower site boundary needed to be raised some 5m.
JNP Group proposed and designed a reinforced earth retaining wall, running the full length of the eastern site boundary. This not only reduced the land take considerably over more conventional banking, but also provided a green, vegetated finish to the railway line.
Raising the levels enabled the entire site to be productively utilised to provide much needed housing.
JNP Group liaised and sort approval from both Network Rail and West Sussex County Council for this structure.
JNP Group services provided:
- Reinforced earth retaining wall.
- Slope stability analysis by FE.
- Surface water drainage and runoff attenuation.
- Site inspection and sign off during construction.
