Contaminated land may present a hazard to the environment and or human health. We are committed to providing cost effective solutions to the remediation of contaminated land prior to development. Faced with ever changing legislation, clients increasingly rely on our expertise to minimise risk and provide robust and cost effective solutions to their development problems.
Whether you are a landowner, a construction company, a property developer or financial institution JNP Group has the expertise to turn sites viewed as potential liabilities into commercial assets;
JNP Group offer the following services in contaminated land and landfill:-
We recognise that contaminated land reclamation is much more than the remediation of contaminated soil and water, and so our team is skilled in a wide range of other services, including hydrogeology, sustainable urban drainage systems, infrastructure, flooding, noise reduction, air quality, structural engineering and roads and sewers design.
Following the identification of significant pollutant linkages on a contaminated land site, a remediation strategy needs to be agreed with the Environment Agency, the Local Authority and the NHBC. JNP Group develops Remediation Strategies in conjunction with the client, knowledge of the site and site constraints. Remediation strategies for soils and groundwater are developed.
Examples of remediation strategies developed, implemented and validated by JNP Group in 2010/2011 include:-
JNP Group have experience of undertaking geotechnical appraisals for a wide range of development types on both greenfield and brownfield sites. Our specialists have experience in the following disciplines:-
From the 6th April 2008, a site waste management plan will be required for all new construction projects worth more than £300,000. Their implementation aims to reduce the quantity of construction waste that is sent to landfill and also to reduce fly tipping. The types and quantities of waste that will be produced are identified and a strategy to recycle these is formulated.
The SWMP’s must include all wastes from a construction site, not just soils. On the majority of construction projects JNP Group advise our clients on maximum resource efficiency of site derived soils and hence we are in a unique position to take overall responsibility for the SWMP.
