Under separate appointments, JNP Group consulting engineers acted as the Environmental Engineer for the client/developer and the civil & structural engineer for the design & build contractor.

The environmental engineering of the site included preparation of a desk top study and supervision of a ground investigation. The remediation at the site required the removal of oil contaminated soils supplemented with groundwater treatment to remove oil from the water table. All works were carried out in close liaison with, and to the satisfaction of, the Environment Agency.

The structural elements of the project included a combination of traditional and steel framed solutions developed in close harmony with the architect and the design & build contractor. The civil engineering included car parking, drainage, surface water disposal and junction design to tie the development in with the public highway.

The site is located near to the centre of Harmondsworth, near Heathrow airport. The scheme called for remediation of contamination below the site as a result of the previous use of the site as a car workshop and sales forecourt. The building is of a steel frame construction with pre-cast concrete floors and is clad in masonry. The developments high quality specification is enhanced with natural slate roofing.
