Overview
JNP Group provided transport planning services to support the expansion of NIS Chorley’s manufacturing and production facilities. This required reconfiguring the on-site service yard, assessing parking demand, and ensuring adequate provision for staff and visitors.
Summary
A swept path analysis identified the need for minor widening of the access road, which was incorporated into the revised design. A parking accumulation study was conducted to evaluate parking demand and determine the deficit caused by the proposed changes. Based on this analysis, JNP Group provided recommendations for additional parking in line with standards. A Technical Note and supporting drawings summarised the findings, and the planning application was approved with no objections from the Local Highway Authority.
